Fun with Logos! (3)

August 30, 2022 by Communication WG

AS Aachen

AS Aachen

The skyline over the EUROAVIA logo shows one of the most iconic buildings of Aachen, the cathedral. The shown skyline corresponds to the view of the cathedral from the area called the “Katschhof”.

The view from the Katschhof is the most iconic view of the Aachen cathedral. For AS Aachen’s members, it was important to include the architecture of the cathedral in the logo to show its belonging to the city. Also, it was important to have simple shapes to have better printability, and scalability on different materials.

AS Athens

AS Athens

The base is, undoubtedly, the EUROAVIA logo and below it, there is the name of the AS, the thing that distinguishes the logo, is the fact that the letter “T” is designed as an ancient column.

The top half symbolizes the history and culture of Ancient Greece. More specifically, their famous ancient temples and monuments where the biggest and most spectacular is, of course, the “Acropolis” in Athens, hence the column in the logo.

AS Covilha

AS Covilha

The logo of AS Covilhã has three airplanes that come from the AEROUBI’s logo, they represent the grade in Aeronautical Engineering.

The two mountains represent the region Covilha is in; located near a place called “Serra da Estrela”, a mountain range where the highest altitudes of mainland Portugal are found. Its highest point, 1993 meters high, and called “Torre” marks the second-highest mountain in Portugal. It is part of the wider mountain range called “Sistema Central”.

“Serra da Estrela” is an area of landscape integrated into the Serra da Estrela Natural Park which after its establishment on July 16, 1976, became the largest protected area on Portuguese soil. Besides the snow, the extraordinary fauna, and flora, the tourists are also attracted by the orography of colossal proportions as well as the human, cultural, historical, and gastronomy of this beautiful region.

AS Bordeaux

AS Bordeaux

In this case, we find the EUROAVIA Logo being orbited by an Ariane 6 rocket, followed by an airplane.

This is a reference to Bordeaux being a major cluster in the aerospace sector and the home of the aerospace valley, also parts of Ariane 6 are being built near Bordeaux.
