Mastering the Skies: Take a look inside the Model Airplane Workshop by EUROAVIA Athens!

May 30, 2024May 30, 2024 by Communication WG

It was such a pleasure to organise and host our first Model Airplane Workshop at the National Technical University of Athens! Together, we had the chance to not only learn exciting facts but also how to construct them from the ground up. We had a great time meeting all of our participants whose impeccable determination helped them succeed and build amazing models!

The workshop was a learning opportunity for the participants but also had the character of a competition, with the team having the longest and smoothest flight to win free training and examination for drone pilot license!

All the plane’s body was created using simple materials: cardboard and glue, and its electrical system consisted of the battery, the motor and the servos for the aileron and elevator.  Of course, there were specific instructions and design blueprints provided to each team and also, each group had a member of EUROAVIA Athens as their designated supervisor and support them through the whole workshop.

The workshop could not be completed without the contribution of our sponsors. We want to thank Sklavenitis for supporting us, AVEC for fueling us with coffee and Goody’s Burger House for their kind offer of preparing our lunch. We also want to express our gratitude for Hellas Digital that supplied us with the essential electronic components. Lastly, we want to thank Hellenic Drones for providing the best team with the best pilot training and drone operator’s license. We feel enormously thankful for the support and and incredible educational opportunities. We cannot wait to see what the future holds! Until then, fly high!
