The new millennium arrived with nonstop cultural and technological changes that made people from all over the globe more easily connected. That change included EUROAVIA, which was devoted to adapting and embracing the new challenges the 21st century brought.
One of the first significant moves of the association took place in 2002 when the application rules for events were established. This improved the event organisation process between the AS and EUROAVIA to ensure the great quality that has identified the association during its history. In this period, new technical events such as the Laddermill Project, the Aurora Project and the Air Cargo Challenge were introduced. The latter, in particular, has been one of the most important and successful technical projects from EUROAVIA since 2003, bringing together teams from all over the world.
Several collaborations between EUROAVIA and important aerospace companies were set during this decade, as one of the objectives of our association is to be the bridge between students and companies. Between 2002 and 2003, agreements with Airbus UK and Rolls Royce were signed. Moreover, in the 2000, the European Space Agency (ESA) achieved the affiliated membership status, a progression from its earlier participation in the 90s with the Design Workshop. The DeWo unfortunately faced its end in 2006 due to many problems surrounding the organisation, with its last edition hosted in Noordwijk (The Netherlands).
Finally, the current slogan from EUROAVIA was chosen during this decade and it represents the EUROAVIAn spirit, “Build the wings of your future”.
