Our base was Dahab Hostel Cairo, a charming and centrally located retreat offering easy access to the city’s treasures. The itinerary featured visits to iconic landmarks like the Pyramids of Giza, the Egyptian Museum, and Khan El Khalili, paired with aerospace-focused activities at the Zewail City University.

Participants arrived in Cairo, tired but excited. The warm welcome at Dahab Hostel fostered a sense of community, with introductions and light refreshments setting a positive tone. We had our welcome dinner and got to know each other and then we spent the night in “Ahwa Balady” a type of caffé and had an unforgettable night filled with memories and laughter.

The Citadel of Qaitbay offered stunning Mediterranean views, while the Alexandria Library inspired awe with its architectural and intellectual grandeur. A stroll along the Corniche provided photo opportunities. The day concluded at Sporting club where a delicious dinner preceded a restful evening.

Egyptian Museum

Breakfast energised the group for a visit to the Egyptian Museum in Tahrir Square, where Tutankhamun’s treasures and ancient statues left everyone spellbound. The evening offered free time, to explore Cairo’s vibrant streets and enjoy local cuisine.

The Pyramids of Giza were a highlight, their majesty surpassing expectations. The Sphinx captivated the group, inspiring numerous photographs.

The group explored Old Cairo, where the Citadel of Saladin provided stunning city views and the Complex of Religions highlighted Egypt’s interfaith history. After lunch, Khan El Khalili’s bustling market enchanted everyone with its array of spices, jewellery, and textiles. Some secured unique souvenirs, while others embraced the lively chaos of the market’s alleys. Dinner concluded a day filled with discovery.

Abdeen Palace and Nile Cruise

A visit to Abdeen Palace, a stunning blend of Ottoman, European, and Islamic architectural styles. The day’s highlight was a two-hour yacht cruise on the Nile, where participants shared beverages and foods representing their cultures.
