May 2025 Update from AS Lyon

May 30, 2025May 30, 2025 by Communication WG

Our journey to the Air Cargo Challenge

At AS Lyon, we are driven by a shared passion for aeronautics and a vision for pushing the boundaries of engineering. This year, our organization has embarked on an exhilarating journey to participate in the renowned Air Cargo Challenge. What started as a vision quickly became a reality, thanks to the dedication and hard work of our growing team. One of our first major achievements was successfully recruiting new members, strengthening our community with fresh talent and enthusiasm. This expansion allowed us to form a dedicated new technical team, focused on designing and building an aircraft optimized for the challenge.

Through teamwork, perseverance, and technical expertise, we successfully built and assembled our first plane. Seeing our creation take shape was a moment of pride for the entire team due to the fact that this was our first technical experience and working group at AS Lyon. As we prepare for the challenge ahead, we continue to soar, united by a passion for aviation and a drive for success.

The past few months have been an amazing experience for our technical team. We matured as a team, honed our technical competence, and gained invaluable experience. Above all, we have developed a robust culture of teamwork and innovation that will drive us forward. While flying in the air with our aircraft, we do this with confidence knowing that all our hard work is worth it. This challenge is not just a competition, but an opportunity for us to demonstrate our passion. Furthermore, we are expanding our technical expertise in composites and currently we are looking forward to designing our first carbon fibre plane. AS Lyon stands ready, and we wait to leave our impression on the Air Cargo Challenge.
