This August, EUROAVIA Athens proudly represented Greece at the New Flying Competition 2025, hosted in Hamburg, Germany, and brought home an impressive 3rd place. The event gathered talented student teams from all over the world, each presenting their unique RC aircraft and competing in demanding flight missions that tested design, innovation, and piloting skills.
Our aircraft, Hermes VII, successfully completed its missions, standing out for its performance and the commitment behind it. This result is a reflection of months of effort, creativity, and theteamwork of our members, who combined engineering knowledge with passion for aviation.
Beyond the competition itself, our trip to Hamburg was a truly enriching experience. We had the chance to visit Airbus Headquarters, where we got an inside look at the cutting-edge technologies shaping the future of aerospace. Exploring one of the world’s leading hubs of innovation gave us valuable inspiration for our own journey as future engineers.
At the same time, the NFC allowed us to connect with fellow EUROAVIAns and students from across Europe. Meeting other participating teams, exchanging ideas, and sharing the same enthusiasm for flight reminded us of the unique community spirit that defines EUROAVIA. These friendships and collaborations are as valuable as the trophy we brought home.
Finally, we also took time to discover Hamburg, a city deeply tied to aviation history. From its vibrant port and modern architecture to its rich cultural life, Hamburg provided the perfect backdrop for an unforgettable experience.
We are grateful to our sponsors, supporters, and the EUROAVIA network for making this journey possible. Winning 3rd place at NFC 2025 is not just an achievement for our team, but also a step forward in our mission to keep learning, innovating, and flying higher.
