October 2025 Update from AS Covilhã

October 28, 2025October 28, 2025 by Communication WG

General Assembly: Defining the Path Forward
This month, AEROUBI & AS Covilhã successfully hosted its General Assembly (Assembleia Geral de Membros), a pivotal moment in setting the course for the Local Group’s activities in the 2025/2026 academic year. During the session, the proposed activity plan and budget for the upcoming year were presented, outlining the workshops, events, and initiatives to come. The assembly also served as an open forum for discussion, where members shared ideas, expressed opinions, and engaged directly with the Board of AEROUBI & AS Covilhã.

Renovations and Comfort Upgrades: A Renewed Space for Members
In parallel with its organizational developments, AEROUBI & AS Covilhã has been working to improve the comfort and functionality of its facilities. The headquarters of the Local Group underwent a series of renovations and reorganizations to create an environment that better supports study, teamwork, and relaxation. The renewal of essential infrastructure, such as the replacement of blinds and the acquisition of new furniture and beanbags, has significantly enhanced the comfort and usability of the space.

Looking Ahead
With a clear roadmap established during the General Assembly and improved facilities ready to serve its members, AEROUBI & AS Covilhã is well-prepared for an active and inspiring academic year. The Local Group’s technical teams are also operating at full capacity: UBIAT is currently developing its aircraft for the Air Cargo Challenge 2026 and recently visited ANAC, Portugal’s National Authority for Civil Aviation, to present the aircraft built for the AIAA Design, Build, Fly (DBF) competition. Meanwhile, Fenix proudly presented themselves at EuRoC.

Both teams embody the innovation, teamwork, and determination that define AEROUBI & AS Covilhã. As the year unfolds, these efforts will not only strengthen the technical excellence and community spirit of UBI’s Aeronautical Engineering students but also reinforce the group’s contribution within the broader EUROAVIA network.
