“SUP: A Story of Heart, Team Spirit, and a Third Chance to Fly”
Sometimes, an aircraft becomes more than just a project. For us, SUP became a story about ambition, teamwork, and the kind of determination that keeps a group moving forward even when things get tough.
SUP is one of the most ambitious aircraft Beoavia has ever created — our most demanding and advanced project so far. Built entirely from carbon fiber, with a complex internal structure, a modern aerodynamic design, an exceptionally powerful engine, sophisticated onboard electronics, and a fully retractable landing gear, SUP represents a new level of engineering for our team.
Our journey began under pressure. The first flight wasn’t just another test — it was supposed to be our official proof of flight, the key video required by the competition organizers. It was a moment filled with excitement, tension, and uncertainty about whether we would manage to record everything on time. Instead of the clean takeoff we hoped for, the flight ended with a damaged right wing.
Still, giving up was never an option.
That night, the workshop stayed awake. With tools, sketches, and teamwork in perfect sync, SUP was repaired and ready to fly again by the next morning.
The second attempt brought an even greater challenge: a hard landing that damaged the fuselage, both wings, the propeller, and the landing gear. Situations like this can discourage even experienced teams, but ours only grew stronger.
Everyone stepped in with knowledge, patience, time, and determination. And within a few days, SUP was fully repaired, reinforced, carefully tested, and ready once again.
And then came the moment that changed everything. On the third attempt — just two days before leaving for the NFC competition — SUP finally took off exactly the way it was meant to. Smooth, stable, and confident. Not just once, but through a series of successful flights that proved the strength of both the design and the team behind it.
With SUP fully prepared, we traveled to Hamburg for the NFC competition, where our aircraft proudly represented Beoavia and our country, Serbia. Throughout the event, we received numerous compliments from other teams, who recognized the innovation, skills, and engineering effort behind every detail of our aircraft.
Today, SUP is much more than an aircraft. It is a symbol of perseverance, unity, and the belief that no challenge is too big when a team stands together.
SUP now stands as a reminder of what Beoavia is built on: dedication, unity, and the courage to rise every time it matters.
