AS Castelldefels explores the heart of Naples

From January 30th to February 3rd, AS Castelldefels organized a trip to Naples, Italy. The journey aimed to bring together technical interest, historical exploration, and international networking within the EUROAVIA framework.

The highlight of our international outreach was the meeting with our colleagues from AS Napoli. We were especially excited to welcome Luigi, the Secretary of EUROAVIA International, who joined us during the visit. This meeting gave our members a great opportunity to exchange experiences, discuss the different realities of our local groups, and discuss the different realities of our local groups in a friendly and collaborative atmosphere.

Our itinerary perfectly balanced technical learning and cultural discovery. We visited Città della Scienza, where the group engaged with modern scientific exhibits and interactive displays. To better understand the structural and historical evolution of the city, we explored the Napoli Sotterranea, a fascinating network of tunnels and cisterns that reveals the city’s engineering past. The trip also included visits to the archaeological site of Pompeii and the crater of Mount Vesuvius, offering a unique look at the region’s geography and history.

Some of the most memorable experiences were the guided tours led by Luigi, who shared the deep-rooted traditions, culture, and food found in the streets of Naples. Hearing these insights from a local expert and fellow EUROAVIAn was the perfect way to end a trip that successfully blended academic curiosity with the true spirit of the association.

We would like to extend our heartfelt thanks to AS Napoli, and especially to Luigi, for their hospitality and for making us feel at home.
