This month, AEROUBI & AS Covilhã attended Futurália in Lisbon, Portugal’s largest university fair, providing our members with a unique opportunity to represent the Universidade da Beira Interior (UBI) and its Aeronautical Engineering program. This initiative aimed to strengthen the connection between prospective high school students and the higher education environment, offering young learners direct contact with current university students and insights into the academic world.
Representing Aeronautical Engineering: One of the main highlights of the fair was the direct interaction at the university booth, where our members answered questions and clarified doubts regarding the Aeronautical Engineering curriculum. This experience allowed high schoolers to better understand the complexity of the coursework, the specific demands of studying in the aerospace field, and the importance of resilience, problem-solving, and dedication when transitioning to higher education.
Showcasing Student Initiatives: The representation at the fair also included highlighting the core activities organized by AEROUBI & AS Covilhã and EUROAVIA. Through engaging conversations and shared experiences, prospective students gained a broader perspective on the hands-on projects, workshops, and extracurricular opportunities available at UBI and abroad thanks to the EUROAVIA network, reinforcing the vital link between theoretical classroom learning and practical engineering applications.
Engaging Future Students: Complementing the academic component, our presence at Futurália also focused on the unique student experience in Covilhã. Honest testimonies and dynamic interactions allowed high schoolers to deepen their understanding of the vibrant campus life, the welcoming environment, and the strong support networks available, highlighting the close relationship and camaraderie that define the student body at our university.
Looking ahead as the academic year unfolds, experiences such as this will continue to promote the technical excellence, ambition, and community spirit that define AEROUBI & AS Covilhã.
