In the last couple of months, AS Lisboa has been quite busy organising several activities for their members, namely field trips to the most relevant companies from the aerospace industry and the annual event Semana Aeroespacial, a networking event with national and international aerospace companies for various activities at Técnico Lisbon campus.
Since October, AS Lisboa has organised four field trips, all of which have been enormously successful! The last field trip was attended by 42 students at TAP’s facilities at Lisbon Airport. These activities are a fantastic way to connect the students with the industry.
Particularly from this field trip, the students were able to get to know different areas of work of TAP Maintenance & Engineering and TAP Air Portugal, the engine area and the operations area in its largest hangar or the Integrated Operations Control Center (IOCC) area. The discussions with professionals from various areas gave the participants a clearer view of the challenges the company faces on a daily basis in the aviation sector.
Last month, AS Lisboa had the great pleasure of organising another edition of Semana Aeroespacial, a free access event whose main purpose is to promote interaction between students and companies, reaching about seven thousand students, most of whom are about to enter the job market. Students have the chance to meet the main companies in the aerospace and technology sector, both nationally and internationally, all in one place. This is a unique opportunity to expand their networks and discover new opportunities that can boost their careers.
In addition, participants are able to attend the Speaker Session with renowned speakers, learn about the careers of Técnico Alumni through the inspiring Alumni Talks, take part in personalised discussions with company representatives during the Roundtables activities and also improve their technical and interpersonal skills through specialised workshops. To all the participants of the event, many prizes are waiting for them!
These two activities are just a glimpse of what AS Lisboa has prepared for this year.
