2024 has been an incredibly productive year for our team, filled with events, trips, and competitions. As the year draws to a close, let’s take a look back at what our team has accomplished.
Chronologically speaking, the year began with the completion of Project Atlas, aimed at preparing for the Air Cargo Challenge (ACC) of the same year. Simultaneously, our team participated in the Talent Days organized by CollegeLink, where visitors had the unique opportunity to try out a flight simulator and network professionally. Members of our team also attended DroWo in Valencia, Spain—a one-of-a-kind experience to gain technical knowledge about drones while connecting with other EUROAVIAns. Additionally, our team took part in the Athens Science Festival, where attendees got the chance to see Atlas up close and learn about EUROAVIA’s growth.
Moving into the second third of the year, we organised a workshop on aircraft modelling to enhance participants’ skills and showcase their talents. Shortly afterwards, we attended the Fly-In event in Bordeaux, which offered an exceptional blend of education, cultural exchange, and fascinating conferences, all in collaboration with EUROAVIA Bordeaux.
Following Bordeaux, our journey took us to Aachen, Germany, for the Air Cargo Challenge 2024—undoubtedly the most challenging event of the year. After experimenting with Atlas, we sent HERMES VI to represent us. Despite uncertainties about the competition’s outcome, the team returned to Greece proud of securing the 14th position and eager to prepare for the 2025 challenge.
In the final months of 2024 and with the start of the academic year, we organised the Researcher’s Night and the Be a EUROAVIAn event to recruit new members passionate about aerospace and to share updates about the team’s progress. Throughout the year, we also made school visits to inspire and inform potential future members about our activities.
Twenty days before the year’s end, we proudly announced our participation in the New Flying Competition 2025 in Hamburg, Germany. This competition will focus on efficiency, innovation, and connecting aeronautics with a more sustainable future. Stay tuned as we embark on this journey in 2025!
All of the team’s efforts—from organising events and trips to constructing our aircraft—would not have been possible without the support of our sponsors. Their belief in our vision as a student team striving to promote aerospace engineering in Europe has been invaluable.
Happy Holidays and a Wonderful New Year to all!
