Born at the Berlin Air Show in 2004, our local group took off, connecting passionate students with the world of aviation and creating a community that continues to inspire. Today we’re taking you on a journey through two decades of soaring success: the history of EUROAVIA Rzeszów.
Our History
Every great adventure starts with a spark of inspiration, and for EUROAVIA Rzeszów, that spark came 20 years ago. In 2004, a group of professors, buzzing with excitement after a visit to the Berlin Air Show, returned to Rzeszów University of Technology with a bold idea – to establish a local group of EUROAVIA. With the support of the university and the local community, we successfully established EUROAVIA Rzeszów, becoming part of a global network of aviation enthusiasts.
From organising workshops and events to building a tight-knit community, our founders worked tirelessly to make EUROAVIA Rzeszów a success. What started as a small group of dreamers quickly grew into a vibrant hub of activity, filled with projects, friendships, and endless opportunities to learn and grow. Today, we carry forward their vision with the same energy and enthusiasm, keeping their legacy alive while adding new chapters to our history.
Bezmiechowa
It’s genuinely hard to NOT mention this place when we’re speaking about EUROAVIA. Bezmiechowa, a small village near Rzeszów, is renowned as a paradise for glider pilots. Its unique geographical location, characterised by strong thermals and ideal wind conditions, has made it a mecca for glider enthusiasts for decades. EUROAVIA Rzeszów has a deep connection to Bezmiechowa.
For us, Bezmiechowa is more than just an airfield – it’s a playground for our passion. We organise trips to this incredible spot, where members can glide, learn, and strengthen our community by having fun together. There are no right words to explain the beauty and magic of this place.
20 Years of History
The year 2024, EUROAVIA Rzeszów hit a major milestone – 20 years of making aviation dreams come true!
As we celebrated our 20th anniversary, we reflected on the remarkable journey of EUROAVIA Rzeszów. Our university hosted a special event to commemorate this milestone, featuring a presentation that highlighted our chapter’s achievements, from our early days to our current endeavours. The presentation showcased our journey over the years – from humble beginnings to becoming one of the most active EUROAVIA local groups. Stories were shared, memories were relived, and a sense of pride filled the room. Being part of EUROAVIA Rzeszów is about more than just learning how to make aeroplane models – it’s about being part of something bigger, a community that connects students across borders and cultures.
Over the years, we’ve built friendships that span continents, explored new horizons through international collaborations, and learned lessons that will stay with us forever. Celebrating 20 years reminded us of how far we’ve come and how much we’re capable of achieving. Here’s to another 20 years of adventures, growth, and reaching for the stars!
