From October 6 to 10, 2025, AS Braunschweig had the opportunity to welcome EUROAVIA members from all over Europe, specifically Spain, Italy, Greece, Turkey, Belgium, and Germany. The occasion for the gathering was the 2025 Air, Space, and Mobility Symposium. As the title of the event already indicates, the focus of the international event was on the topics of Aviation, Spaceflight, and Mobility.

The first day of the event, October 6th, was the official arrival day. We welcomed the earliest birds, having found their way to us by having lunch in the university’s cafeteria. In the afternoon, we waited together in the hostel for the remaining guests to arrive in order to continue with check in. After everyone arrived, the group had dinner and afterwards was picked up and guided to an initial get2gether-event. For the evening, we introduced the board of the local group in charge of the symposium and played little games to get to know each other, all while having the first beers in a relaxed atmosphere.

The first full day of the Symposium, October 7th, was all about the topic of space. In the morning, we organised two presentations about space junk and launch vehicles. After lunch, these presentations were complemented by a third presentation, which was all about planetary defense. After the presentations were completed, we showed our guests the beauty of our city by giving them a city tour. The tour may not have been the most informative one, but it definitely included all the important historical buildings, squares, and streets Braunschweig has to offer. The tour ended back at the hostel, where our guests had dinner. Afterwards, we picked them up in order to make our way to the venue for the evening. We organized a student pub for the evening, in order to spend an enjoyable and relaxing evening together.
On the second day, October 8th was all about aviation. The day commenced with two presentations about bird strikes. In particular, on how to prevent bird strikes and how to build robust aircraft, being able to withstand bird strikes. After these comprehensive insights on bird strikes, we had lunch and then picked our guests up in order to make our way to the airport in Hanover. There, we had the opportunity to visit ACC Columbia, a company specializing in base maintenance of private jets and also the most important sponsor of our Symposium. We were given a tour of one of their maintenance hangars, and we were given presentations about their company. After the exciting excursion to Hanover, we had lunch back in the hostel in Braunschweig and then enjoyed the evening with some bowling.

The third day of the Symposium, October 9th, was all about mobility. In the morning, we visited the company Siemens Mobility at their premises in Braunschweig. We were welcomed with an introduction about their company and a comprehensive presentation about train control and protection systems. Afterwards, we were given a tour on their premises, including a level crossing simulator and a rapid transit simulator. At noon, we had lunch in the cafeteria of the university and then listened to a presentation given by Ansys, another sponsor of the event. To round up the afternoon, we had a brief tour of the university and ended up spending the remaining time until lunch in the botanical garden. In the evening, our leaderboard gave a recap-presentation of the event and awarded our guests with participation certificates. Afterwards, we had the final dinner in a popular local restaurant.
