EUROAVIA Aachen at the Space Tech Expo Bremen 2025
From 17th to 20th November 2025, members of AS Aachen, together with some members from AS Munich, travelled to Bremen to attend the Space Tech Expo and visit several leading aerospace companies and research institutes. The trip offered an excellent opportunity to explore current developments in the space sector, network with industry representatives, and strengthen the bonds within our Local Group.
The program began on Monday, the 17th of November, with a visit to the DLR, where the group learned about some of their key missions and saw their clean rooms and testing facilities. Afterwards, we visited ZARM, an institute within the University of Bremen, and had the unique chance to go inside the drop tower facility, an unforgettable highlight for all participants. The day concluded informally with bar hopping, giving members time to connect and get to know each other better.

The second day marked the start of the Space Tech Expo. Our group visited the Innovative Sensor Technology (IST) AG booth, where representatives gave us a general overview of their work and areas of focus. Later, we also explored the Beyond Gravity booth, learning about their current projects and ambitions within the space industry. That evening, we were welcomed at a tower of the Bremer Luftverein at Bremen Airport, with AS Bremen kindly organising both the venue and the food. While enjoying hotdogs and beer together, members reflected on the day’s experiences and exchanged impressions in a friendly atmosphere.

On Wednesday morning, our excursion continued with a guided tour of the OHB facilities, providing a general impression of their work and environment. After returning to the Space Tech Expo for its second day, members continued exploring exhibition halls, engaging with exhibitors, and attending presentations. Later, part of the group visited the German Research Center for Artificial Intelligence (DFKI). Due to organisational reasons, the visit was split into two groups, with the remaining members scheduled for the following day. The day ended with a joint dinner, giving everyone more time to connect socially.

On the last day, the group attended the final sessions of the Space Tech Expo. Some members used the opportunity to explore Bremen and enjoy the good weather, while the remaining group completed the second visit to DFKI.
This trip to Bremen offered a well balanced mix of technical exposure and community building. Through the diverse programme and shared experiences, our members returned with new perspectives, strengthened connections, and renewed motivation for future EUROAVIA activities.
