SpeedFest 2025
November was a blast thanks to the incredibly successful SpeedFest 2025. This was a super dynamic, cross-discipline event that we at AEROUBI & AS Covilhã were stoked to co-organize with NEUBI, the UBI Electromechanical Engineering Nucleus. We put this whole festival together as a big shout-out to the world of motorsports and the awesome engineering that makes it all happen, bringing in students and enthusiasts to share their experience with us from all over the country.
The heart of SpeedFest 2025 was the automobile exhibition. Attendees got up close and personal with some seriously high-performance and classic vehicles, a great way to see automotive tech and its evolution in action. Right next to that, the high-energy rally simulator gave everyone a thrilling, hands-on taste of motorsports. But it wasn’t just fun and games. We had some key educational content too, with insightful lectures focused on the motorsports field, such as many Formula Student teams. These talks gave deep dives into the latest tech, aero design, and the engineering challenges you face in these projects.
What else happened in November?
Further on in the month, we ran a series of aeronautical workshops. These were designed to help everyone explore and really nail those core concepts and technical subjects from the Aeronautical Engineering course, a solid boost to both practical and theory knowledge.
We also sold out the merchandise for 2025, which really helped pump up the group spirit and identity.
Honoring tradition, we held our first course dinner this year, which was a fantastic evening for everyone to relax, connect, and celebrate the academic year so far in a fun setting. Plus, we hosted an exciting futsal tournament that brought out some serious competitive spirit and camaraderie among the students, proving that our engineering skills extend well beyond the classroom and the workshops.
To cap it all off, we officially announced the International Study Visit to Toulouse, happening in February 2026, thus giving the chance to our students to tour and learn about one of Europe’s top aerospace hubs.
