Finally, from the start of the pandemic in 2020 when the International Events came to a halt, the first Fly-In has just taken place in Dresden between May 8th – 12th, 2022. But do you know how Fly-Ins started?
Fly-Ins started back in 1986, in a period when EUROAVIA was growing fast with new local groups joining the network, old groups being more active and new activities coming in. One of these activities was proposed by the local group from Delft during the Congress of 1986, whose aim was to allow participants from other local groups around Europe to pay only for the journey or as little as possible for a week-long activity. Indeed, the first event of this type was organized by Delft and Haarlem and was called “Fly-In”.
As you can see from the program of the Fly-In in Delft and Haarlem, this is a non-technical event where the participants have the opportunity to visit the hosts’ city, university, laboratories and companies without forgetting to share the EUROAVIA spirit.
So, what are you waiting for to participate in the next Fly-In?
