On 14 May 2025, AS Munich organised the first Stammtisch event at the ESO Supernova in Garching. The Stammtisch event is a concept that consists of the gathering of EUROAVIA Munich members and getting to know each other while eating at a restaurant. However, this time, we wanted to combine the idea of the Stammtisch with a space-related activity, so we decided to visit the ESO Supernova.
From April 10th to 12th, members of AS Munich, AS Dresden, and AS Aachen joined forces for a memorable journey to Friedrichshafen to attend the AERO Expo – Germany’s largest general aviation trade show. Over the course of three days, the students immersed themselves in the world of aviation, right in the birthplace of the iconic Zeppelin airships.

From October 26th to 30th, AS Munich, joined by members from AS Dresden and AS Aachen, embarked on a trip to Hamburg, one of Europe’s premier aviation hubs. Over five days, the group of 25 participants immersed themselves in the city’s dynamic aerospace ecosystem, gaining firsthand insights into cutting-edge technologies, future career opportunities, and the community that drives the aviation industry.

At the end of May 2024, EUROAVIA Munich had the honour of hosting German reserve astronaut Nicola Winter at the Technical University of Munich. Nicola, a former fighter pilot, aerospace engineer, Ph.D. candidate, and reserve astronaut, shared her experience of the journey from applying to the final selection process of becoming an astronaut with a group of young, motivated students who dream of one day becoming astronauts themselves.

In early November, we had the honour to host our International Event, the Ideathon. The event was a showdown between two exceptional teams: UniBOss from AS Forlì-Bologna and Ad Mundum from AS Bucharest, following their advancement from the previous round in Terrassa, Spain.

AS Munich recently organized a visit to the Airbus Production Line in Hamburg, Finkenwerder. With the support of Katharina Krieger, one of our alumni working at Airbus, the visit was a fantastic opportunity for EUROAVIA members from different Local Groups to come together, connect, and explore the fascinating world of aerospace.
