After the exam break in January, we kicked off February with more motivation than ever and a calendar full of exciting activities. This month has been especially meaningful for EUROAVIA València, combining new initiatives, technical visits, and opportunities to strengthen our community spirit.
From February 14 to 15, we experienced one of the most special milestones for our association: the first Iberian Congress of EUROAVIA. For the first time, four of the five Spanish local groups (Cádiz, Terrassa, Castelldefels, and València) came together to share knowledge, experiences, and strengthen the bonds that unite us as future aerospace professionals. Throughout the weekend, participants had the opportunity to visit the Air and Space Museum, an inspiring experience that allowed us to connect aviation history with the future we are building. We also organized an aeronautical-themed gymkhana, which combined learning, teamwork, and plenty of fun moments. At AS València, we are incredibly proud of how this congress turned out. It was an idea we had wanted to bring to life for a long time, and finally seeing so many passionate students gathered in one place was truly unforgettable. This is only the beginning: next year, even better!

On Saturday, February 21, we visited the Olocau Aerodrome, where members were able to explore the facilities and observe general aviation operations up close. Experiences like this allow us to better understand the realities of aviation beyond the classroom, while enjoying a day surrounded by aircraft and great company.
A few days later, on Wednesday, February 25, we had the opportunity to visit the Bétera Military Base, where we learned about the work carried out by the Emergency Helicopter Battalion II (BHELEME II). During the visit, we explored the control tower, a helicopter hangar, and different operational areas used by the Military Emergency Unit (UME). We discovered how this battalion supports the population in emergencies such as natural disasters, rescue missions, and firefighting operations, gaining valuable insight into the humanitarian side of aviation.
To close the month, on Saturday, February 28, we will return once again to the Valencia Airport Approach facilities. These visits continue to be among our most valued activities, giving members firsthand exposure to air traffic management and the coordination required during one of the most critical phases of flight.
February has reminded us that, after exams, there is nothing better than coming back together to share our passion for aviation. With many more activities ahead, we are excited for everything the coming months will bring. Stay tuned!
