As the academic year reaches its final stretch, AM Cairo has been navigating one of its most eventful months, balancing end-of-semester pressures with exciting opportunities and some significant changes on the horizon.
Earlier this month, our university hosted its annual Career Fair, and AM Cairo was proud to have a dedicated booth at the event. It was a fantastic opportunity to connect with students from across the faculty, introduce them to what EUROAVIA is all about, and spark interest in aerospace and aviation among peers who may not have encountered our association before. The fair drew a wide range of companies and organisations, giving our members a chance to explore internship and career pathways while also representing AM Cairo to a broader audience. We came away encouraged by the conversations we had and the new faces we welcomed at our stand.
Equally exciting is a meeting that our board is preparing for in the coming days with the newly appointed head of Student Affairs and Activities at our university. This is a relationship we are genuinely looking forward to building. The new head has expressed an openness to supporting student initiatives and helping them grow, and we believe this partnership could open new doors for AM Cairo whether through access to resources, event spaces, or greater institutional recognition. We are approaching this meeting with optimism and a clear set of ideas to share.
On the internal front, AM Cairo is currently in the thick of final examination season, which has naturally slowed down our activity calendar for now. Our members’ academic commitments come first, and we fully expect the pace to pick back up once exams conclude. In the meantime, the board has been using this quieter period to reflect and plan ahead.
Part of that planning involves an important conversation about our board’s composition. With several of our members approaching graduation this summer, we are preparing to hold an internal meeting to assess how the transition will unfold. We may be recruiting new members to fill any gaps that arise, and we are eager to bring fresh energy and perspectives into the team. Keeping AM Cairo strong and well-represented as people move on is something we take seriously, and we are committed to making this transition as smooth as possible.
Despite the exam season slowdown, the overall mood within AM Cairo is one of momentum. From the Career Fair to institutional partnerships to board renewal, we are laying the groundwork for a strong close to the year and an even stronger start to the next one. We look forward to sharing more updates in the months ahead.
