This month of May has been particularly intense and full of excitement for our Local Group! The EUROAVIA spirit shone brightly through multiple activities that brought our members closer to their shared passion: aeronautics and aerospace engineering. Between immersive field visits, significant technical advancements within our university, and the renewal of our leadership team, we have reached thrilling new milestones. We are absolutely delighted to share the highlights of these past few weeks with you, fellow readers of the EUROAVIA Blog.

Total Immersion at Paris-Orly Airport:
Our monthly adventure kicked off with an unforgettable visit to Paris-Orly Airport. This field trip offered our members the exceptional opportunity to discover the behind-the-scenes operations of one of Europe’s busiest aviation hubs. From the active runways to the complex maintenance zones, understanding the intricate logistics and daily operations that keep aircraft flying safely was a highly educational experience. But the excitement certainly did not stop there!

Following the airport tour, we had the incredible chance to take the controls during a session on a professional flight simulator. Feeling the flight dynamics and practicing standard takeoff and landing procedures was a true dream come true for many of us. This hands-on experience deeply consolidated our vocation for aerospace engineering and gave us a practical perspective on the theories we study in class.

Piloting at Our Fingertips: Our Very Own Flight Simulator
The enthusiasm generated by our visit to Orly found a perfect echo in another major piece of news: we have finally completed the installation of our very own flight simulator at our school! This ambitious project, which required a significant amount of time, relentless dedication, and impressive technical skills from our members, is now a functioning reality. This simulator will serve as a fantastic educational tool, allowing all students to train, understand the mechanics of flight in a practical setting, and share friendly, collaborative moments. It is a source of immense pride for our Local Group to have successfully brought this initiative to life, leaving a lasting and impactful legacy within our institution for future generations of students.

A New Local Board:
Finally, this month marks both the end of a cycle and the beginning of an exciting new chapter with the election of our new Local Board. We would like to extend our warmest thanks to the outgoing team for their hard work, unwavering dedication, and the incredible projects successfully carried out throughout this business year. The new Board is now taking up the torch with renewed energy and a head full of innovative ideas for the upcoming year. We are eager to continue growing our Local Group, expanding our local activities, and strengthening our ties with the extensive international EUROAVIA network.
In summary, this month has been a perfect illustration of what EUROAVIA stands for: continuous learning, practical application, strong team spirit, and a smooth transition toward the future. Armed with our new flight simulator and guided by a fresh leadership team at the helm, we are more than ready to reach new heights.
