Hello EUROAVIA Family!
We hope everyone across the network is having a fantastic spring! Here at AS Istanbul, our year has been an absolute whirlwind, and we are super excited to finally sit down and share a glimpse of our journey with all of you.
Our spring started with a massive burst of energy at the university’s Clubs Festival. Honestly, it was amazing to chat face to face with so many freshmen who share our passion for aviation and space. That excitement flowed right into our Introductory Meeting, where we officially welcomed a fresh batch of future engineers into our local group. For our Local Board, seeing this community grow and bond so quickly has been one of the most rewarding parts of the year.
Since we all spend enough time staring at textbooks, getting our hands dirty was a top priority. We hosted a Model Plane Workshop, which turned out to be a massive hit! It was a lot of fun (and involved a bit of trial and error!) watching everyone apply classroom aerodynamics to build their own models from scratch. To keep that inspiration going, we organized a team visit to the Aviation Museum, soaking in the rich history of flight. We also got a real world reality check during our technical trip to TUSAŞ. Seeing actual aerospace manufacturing lines up close really puts those late-night study sessions into perspective and reminds us why we chose this field.
But let’s be real, it hasn’t been all work and no play. We firmly believe that the strongest teams are built on genuine friendships. Our Board Game Night was the perfect excuse to step away from our screens, share some laughs, and maybe get a little too competitive over tabletop games.
So, what’s next on our radar? We’re currently gearing up for an exciting Pegasus Technical Tour , alongside planning more specialized seminars and theoretical courses to keep our members sharp.
We are incredibly proud of everything AS Istanbul has accomplished so far, and we are so grateful for the energy our members bring every single day. Sending our best wishes to all the other Local Groups, we can’t wait to see you at the next international event!
