AS Patras May 2026 Updates

May marked the peak of a very busy Business Year for EUROAVIA Patras. From elections and a company visit to the highlight of the year, the 9th edition of the association’s main event.

To begin with, our Local Group had its last company visit for the 2025-2026 season, visiting a wind farm near Patras, where participants had the unique opportunity to see wind turbines up close. The visit included an insightful presentation on the operation of wind farms, as well as career opportunities in the field of environmental engineering.

After months of hard work, the 9th edition of “20 Minutes of Innovation”, the annual engineering conference EUROAVIA Patras hosts, took place on May 16th. Over 150 students attended the event to listen to five presentations delivered by academics and engineers on a variety of topics, such as green energy, aviation, and space. While participants also had the opportunity to network with the speakers during the breaks, Space Mics Podcast kept them engaged with a quiz designed to test their knowledge on aviation. Attendees also received 20MOI memorabilia produced on spot using a 3D printer, while coffee and a variety of snacks and food helped create a welcoming atmosphere throughout the event. Overall, the 9th edition of the “20 Minutes of Innovation” conference proved to be a great success.

On May 23rd the 2nd General Meeting of our Local Group took place. The Local Board presented the highlights of the Business Year, while our Working Groups and Technical teams shared everything they have accomplished. After a small break, elections for next year’s Local Board began. Τhe candidates presented themselves, before members voted to elect the 2026-2027 Local Board. To celebrate the conclusion of a successful Business Year, EUROAVIA Patras’ members later enjoyed a karaoke night and a night out in Patras.

This BY marked 25 years of EUROAVIA Patras legacy, connecting students with a shared passion for aviation. Since the Local Group was founded, its members have participated in numerous competitions, some of which they have even won, have been actively involved in the international scene through various Working Groups, and have successfully organized local as well as international events, bringing together like-minded students! In other words, EUROAVIA Patras celebrated 25 years of being one of EUROAVIA’s most active Local Groups.

From the whole AS Patras team, thank you for an amazing year and see you all around Europe! The legacy continues…Cheers to another 25 years!
