This April, EUROAVIA Leuven proudly hosted the second edition of the Aerospace Jobfair in Leuven and it was great! Building on the success of our first fair last year, we set out with a clear ambition: to grow. Not just in scale, but in quality, atmosphere, and impact. We are thrilled to report that we succeeded on all fronts.
A Growing Community
Over 300 students registered for the event, with approximately 225 attending on the day, twice the turnout of last year’s first edition. That kind of growth speaks volumes about the appetite among aerospace students in Belgium for meaningful industry connections. Our marketing focused heavily on social media, which proved highly effective in reaching not only students in Leuven, but also aerospace enthusiasts from further away and even professionals already working in the sector who were looking for their next challenge.
14 Exhibitors, Endless Opportunities
This year’s fair welcomed 10 companies and 3 student associations, together occupying 13 booths across the venue. Participants ranged from global institutions to Belgian start-ups and student initiatives, reflecting the full breadth of the aerospace sector:
• ESA – The European Space Agency
• Redwire – Satellite manufacturing and ISS infrastructure (formerly QinetiQ Space nv, Kruibeke)
• SABCA – A Belgian aerospace pillar with over a century of experience, contributing to Airbus, F-35, and Ariane rockets
• TUI fly Belgium – Part of the world’s leading tourism group, offering careers in airline operations and aircraft maintenance
• ADB Safegate – Smart airport solutions active in over 2,700 airports across 175 countries
• arcsec – KU Leuven spin-off developing attitude determination and control systems for small satellites
• Belgian Defence – Careers combining aviation, engineering, and national security
• VTOL Rocketry BE – Belgium’s first student team building a reusable VTOL rocket
• Be-Rocket – Belgian student rocketry team competing internationally
• Aetherspace – Student team designing a satellite with an inflatable re-entry heat shield
• KU Leuven (Master of Space Studies) and Antwerp Management School (AMS) also attended, presenting postgraduate pathways into the space and aviation sectors.
An Elevated Student Experience
One of our main goals for this edition was to make the experience more memorable and enjoyable for participants. Several new features were introduced with that aim:
Flight Simulator. A flight simulator was available for the full duration of the fair. It proved to be a crowd favourite, drawing queues throughout the day and sparking many conversations between students and company representatives.
Professional Photography & Videography. We hired a professional photographer and videographer to capture the atmosphere of the event, ensuring that the energy and connections made on the day are preserved in vivid detail. Check out our aftermovie on our socials!
Headshot Photo Booth. Students could get professional headshots taken, a practical and popular addition for those looking to sharpen their LinkedIn profiles ahead of job applications.
Free Food & Drinks. Complimentary sandwiches and refreshments were provided to all participants, adding a welcoming and social dimension to the networking environment.
A Tradition in the Making
The feedback from both companies and attendees was positive. Exhibitors praised the quality of student engagement and the professional organisation of the event, while participants appreciated the variety of organisations present and the hands-on extras that made the fair stand out.
For EUROAVIA Leuven, this is exactly the motivation we need to keep going. The Aerospace Jobfair is not simply an event on our calendar, it is our main happening of the year. We believe that students passionate about aerospace deserve a direct bridge to the industry, and we are committed to building and strengthening that bridge year after year.
We look forward to welcoming even more students, companies, and partners to the third edition in 2027! The runway is clear.
