June has been a quieter month for AM Cairo and intentionally so. With final exams now behind us, the group has taken a moment to breathe before shifting focus to what comes next: rebuilding our board, welcoming new members, and laying the groundwork for an exciting summer ahead.

The end of the examination season marked a natural pause in our activities, and we made no effort to fight it. Our members had been pushing hard through a demanding semester, and the priority was always to see everyone through their exams successfully. Now that that chapter is closed, AM Cairo is ready to pick up where it left off and then some!

The most significant development this month has been on the organisational side. Two of our board members have graduated, which is a proud milestone for them personally, but it also means AM Cairo is entering a period of transition. We are currently in the process of recruiting new members to fill the gaps left by their departure. This is not simply a matter of filling positions it is an opportunity to bring in motivated individuals who will carry the association forward with fresh ideas and energy. The recruitment process is underway, and we are optimistic about the talent available within our local group.

Looking ahead, one of the first items on the new board’s agenda will be planning a summer event. The idea is still in its early stages, we have not yet settled on a format or date but the intention is clear: bring our members together after the long exam period, reconnect as a group, and start the next phase of the year with energy and purpose. Conversations with the university are also part of the plan, as we want to make sure any event we organise has proper institutional support and the resources to make it a success.

June may have been calm on the surface, but beneath it AM Cairo is very much in motion. Board transitions are never simple, but they are a natural and healthy part of any student association’s life cycle.

We are approaching this one with care and excitement in equal measure, and we look forward to sharing news of our new board composition and summer plans in the coming weeks.
