Hello again to the amazing EUROAVIA Family!
As the 2025-2026 Business Year comes to an end, we at AS Istanbul are super excited to share our second Newsletter. The past few months have been full of great changes, amazing industry visits, and a lot of fun for our Local Group.
First of all, May was a huge month for us because we held our annual Local Board elections. Our members came together to talk about what we did this past year and what we want to do next. We want to say a massive thank you to the old board for all their hard work. Now, we are very proud to welcome our new President and the new Local Board team! Everyone is feeling really energized right now. The new team is already brainstorming fun ideas and planning cool events for the next semester. It is always a little sad to say goodbye to the old board, but seeing the new team so passionate makes us sure that AS Istanbul has a great future ahead.
Besides the elections, we finally had one of our most awaited events of the semester: the Pegasus Airlines Technical Tour! For aerospace students like us, nothing is better than getting out of the classroom and walking into a real aircraft hangar. During the visit, our members got to see the maintenance and repair operations of a huge airline up close. We watched how they keep commercial aircraft flying safely and had the chance to chat with the engineers working there. It was amazing to see the giant engines and airplane components in person. Our main goal is to connect what we learn at school with the real aviation industry, and this trip did exactly that.
Finally, to celebrate our team spirit and add some colour to our campus life, we organized an AS Istanbul T-shirt Design Competition. We wanted to see our members mix their love for aviation with their art skills, and the designs we got were amazing! After looking at many great options, we let the whole Local Group vote. The winning design perfectly showed our group’s fun and active spirit. We got the T-shirts printed and recently gave them out to all our members. We even had a small gathering when we handed them out, taking lots of group photos. Now, walking around the university and seeing a friend wearing the AS Istanbul shirt is the best feeling. It really makes us feel like a big family.
As we finish this Business Year, we are taking a moment to celebrate everything we did together. We wish everyone in the EUROAVIA network a beautiful, relaxing summer full of blue skies and great adventures. See you all next year!
