EUROAVIA Bordeaux at the NextSpace 2025 Symposium: Charting the Very Low Earth Orbit Frontier
In October 2025, a delegation from EUROAVIA Bordeaux had the chance to take part in the NextSpace 2025 symposium, organised by Way4Space. For its fifth edition, the event was entirely dedicated to Very Low Earth Orbit (VLEO), a still largely untapped region of space set to play a strategic role in the years ahead. Experts, institutions, industry players, and project leaders gathered to discuss the challenges specific to this new space frontier.
The whole team on site would like to warmly thank Way4Space, and Marie Raoul in particular, for making it possible for our members to attend this event. Thanks to this invitation, EUROAVIA Bordeaux was able to spend a full day immersed in an environment bringing together nearly the entire value chain of the regional and national space sector.
For our members, the experience was rewarding on several levels. It was first an opportunity to meet experts from the space ecosystem and grow our network, exchanging directly with professionals, researchers and project leaders from across the sector. It also allowed us to put our own thinking to the test against that of other stakeholders, in a stimulating setting where perspectives from large corporations, startups, and institutions all came together. Finally, the talks and discussions throughout the day broadened our understanding of the latest innovations, as well as the technical, regulatory, and strategic challenges ahead for low orbits: debris management, the limited lifespan of satellites, and the international coordination needed to govern these emerging practices.
The overall atmosphere of the day will also remain one of the highlights of this experience. A big thank you to all the speakers, project leaders and participants for the quality of the exchanges and the collective energy shared throughout the symposium. This kind of gathering is a reminder that the space sector is also shaped by moments of exchange across generations and backgrounds, where students and professionals can engage as equals.
Our members left the day feeling inspired, motivated, and eager to keep contributing to this emerging field with boldness and responsibility. This experience also reinforced EUROAVIA Bordeaux’s ambition to keep building these kinds of connections with the New Aquitaine aerospace and space ecosystem throughout the year. We would love to be back at NextSpace again this year.
