AS Stuttgart – A year in review
With the business year 25-26 coming to an end, it is time to look back on some of the things that happened in AS Stuttgart over the past year. Probably the most exciting excursion happened quite early in the BY, giving members of AS Stuttgart the opportunity to visit Airbus and SpaceTech at Lake Constance. In one of Europe’s largest cleanrooms, located in Immenstaad, Airbus builds a wide range of different satellites used for Earth observation, telecommunications and space exploration. During the factory tour, members of AS Stuttgart had the opportunity to talk to Airbus experts, one of whom had even worked on the famous Rosetta orbiter. Not far away, in Kippenhausen, SpaceTech develops and builds equipment for satellites, including solar arrays, optical instruments and actuator drive units. The visit offered a fascinating insight into the different stages of satellite development and gave our members the chance to see how the technologies we usually only talk about in lectures are actually brought to life.

Up next in the business year was the Christmas dinner, a welcome opportunity to wind down from the usual university stress and enjoy some good food and the EUROAVIA community. After a tasteful supper, trivia games and karaoke sessions, the evening quickly turned into a memorable night, and members were already looking forward to the next Christmas dinner.

First order of business in the new year was the annual members’ meeting of AS Stuttgart, including the election of the new local board. It was time to say goodbye to the old board, and we are still very grateful for the time, effort and work they put into EUROAVIA Stuttgart throughout their term. Their commitment helped shape the local group and laid a great foundation for the year ahead. Soon after, the exam period at the University of Stuttgart began. With most members focusing on studying, things became a little quieter in the local group. However, after many successful exams, AS Stuttgart got back together in April to grill, catch up and officially kick off the new semester. It was a great opportunity to leave the exam stress behind and get back into the EUROAVIA spirit.

Up next was the ILA in Berlin, where members had the chance to exchange ideas with industry experts, discover the latest developments in aviation and space and, of course, meet EUROAVIAns from all over Europe. Between the exhibitions, inspiring conversations and countless encounters with fellow members, there was also enough time to explore the famous Berlin nightlife together and make some memories outside the exhibition halls.
All in all, the past business year was filled with exciting visits, new experiences, successful events and, most importantly, plenty of opportunities to connect with fellow EUROAVIAns. With the next business year already on the horizon, we are looking forward to seeing what comes next for AS Stuttgart.
