Hello EUROAVIAns!
We are more than halfway through our associate year, and it is going to get better and better. From workshops to space seminars, there’s always something in AS Napoli’s agenda. Let’s take a detailed look at everything we ahve done so far and what is coming next.

The Leonardo Networking Event, hosted by EUROAVIA Athens, has officially finished! We are proud to call it a resounding success. In collaboration with Leonardo Helicopters, we welcomed students, professionals, and industry leaders for a dynamic three-day experience centered on engineering excellence, innovation, and career opportunity.

In an unprecedented achievement for Portuguese aeronautical engineering, the Universidade da Beira Interior Aeronautics Team (UBIAT) has successfully qualified to participate in the prestigious AIAA Design/Build/Fly (DBF) competition. This internationally recognised event, held annually in Tucson, Arizona, brings together top aeronautical engineering teams from around the world, including elite institutions such as Ivy League universities. The competition challenges students to design, build, and test their own remote-controlled aircraft, pushing the boundaries of engineering innovation and teamwork.

March has been an exciting and productive month for our team, filled with new opportunities for learning and growth. We kicked things off with our very own Public Speaking Training, where our former President, Renia, encouraged and motivated our members to express themselves on the public stage, giving them the chance to refine their skills and step outside their comfort zones!

One of the most important and favorite activities of AS Athens’ team is to introduce the next generation of engineers to the work of our local group and share the excitement and possibilities of the aerospace industry. Inspiring young minds and igniting their passion for aviation and space exploration is something we deeply value, as we believe that the future of the field depends on fostering curiosity and innovation.

Right after finishing our exam period, EUROAVIA Patras started working again at full capacity with the new semester ahead of us. February turned out to be a very fun month for us, for it was marked with celebrations and opportunities.

As part of our activities, EUROAVIA Athens had the unique opportunity to visit the Control Tower of Athens International Airport “Eleftherios Venizelos” as well as the Air Traffic Control Center in Elliniko, gaining valuable insights into the operations and challenges of air traffic control.
