Hello fellow EUROAVIAns,
From AS Sevilla we hope that you all had a productive month, so let’s start with our February review.
Be up to date with everything that happens in EUROAVIA, then European Association of Aerospace Students.
Hello fellow EUROAVIAns,
From AS Sevilla we hope that you all had a productive month, so let’s start with our February review.
Hello EUROAVIAns! The start of the year is the period right before our biggest events, but this isn’t going to stop us from organizing at least one event each month for our members!
On the 1st of February, EUROAVIA Toulouse had the pleasure to attend the 29TH Gordon Corps Lecture presented by Dr. Raj Nangia, HonFRAeS and Honorary Research Fellow at Bristol University. The symposium was focused on “Certifiable Liquid Hydrogen Aircraft” and it had as a distinguished guest the President of Main Aeronautical Royal Society, Kerissa Khan, MRAeS.
As the second month of the year is passing by and with our exam period taking place, we kept our word and kept our AS active, even during this tough period for our members. After a great number of meetings, we are here to present to you our plans for the upcoming month. March 2024 is going to be a very busy month for sure!
In recent decades, increasing awareness of environmental challenges has led to an intensive search for sustainable alternatives in various industries, including aviation. In line with this trend, electric aircraft are becoming increasingly significant as a potentially sustainable alternative to traditional airplanes. One such example of such innovation is the “Wasp” project developed by the student association “Beoavia” from the Faculty of Mechanical Engineering at the University of Belgrade.
Individuals looking to enhance their photography skills were encouraged to take part in the EUROAVIA Patras photography seminar on January 12, marking the inaugural event of the new year. This gathering gave a unique opportunity to refine camera settings, capture impeccable shots, and acquire specialized knowledge in Lightroom editing.
From November 26th to December 1st, we had the pleasure to organise and host the annual International Event Formation Workshop 2023, an event dedicated to soft skills training sessions delivered by the EUROAVIA Training System trainers. In total, twenty-five fellow EUROAVIAns from all around Europe, such as Spain, Romania, Italy, and other cities in Greece, attended the event.
In early November, we had the honour to host our International Event, the Ideathon. The event was a showdown between two exceptional teams: UniBOss from AS Forlì-Bologna and Ad Mundum from AS Bucharest, following their advancement from the previous round in Terrassa, Spain.
A new EUROAVIA challenge has been set out and our local group, AS Rzeszów, has mobilized. From the beginning, one of the most challenging tasks turned out to be putting together a new team, capable of surpassing last year’s achievements in the competition. More than half of the members, whose great dedication and innovation played were instrumental in the team’s success finished their studies, therefore were not available for the new competition. This led to a substantial knowledge gap, and closing became our priority.
Hello EUROAVIAns, we’re back from the city of pizza, sea and sun with the last newsletter of the year! We hope you had an amazing 2023 and are planning to have many new events in the next months. In these last two months 35 new members have joined the Local Group and we have reached an incredible total of 115 members, one of the best starts in our history!
