Meet Elena Chrysaki, member of the month for July 2026, and get to know a bit more about her journey with EUROAVIA: from working groups to what makes this community feel like home.

Can you briefly introduce yourself?
Hi, my name is Elena Chrysaki. I am from AS Patras. I’ve been in Information Technology Working Group (IT WG) since March, so about four months now. I joined Human Resources Working Group (HR WG) a bit later, around May, after Congress – that’s when Derian (the HR Coordinator) pushed me into the working group. And I’ve officially been part of EUROAVIA since November, so I’m not even at the one-year mark yet, which honestly still surprises me.
Explain a bit about the WG. What is your work, and how do you organise the tasks among your members
I’m lucky enough to be active in two! In IT WG, we mostly work on our digital presence. We are keeping our website secure, building new tools, and developing platforms for events and Congresses. We also handle data: sign-in systems, authorization, all the behind-the-scenes work that keeps everything running smoothly. Right now we’re also building an app, so stay tuned for that one! In HR WG, it’s much more about people. We run interviews, and we work hard to make sure everyone feels safe and protected within the organization. That’s also why we write policies such as the upcoming HDRM and Code of Conduct that will be presented at Congress.

What keeps you motivated in your WG?
Honestly, it’s the people in both working groups. Seeing everyone so motivated about what they do, genuinely caring about the projects, about each other, about connecting people, about aerospace – it’s just beautiful to be part of.
Describe your WG in one word.
For IT: Innovation, especially right now. For HR: People, I think that says it all 🙂
What’s your favourite thing about EUROAVIA?
It’s the people, hands down. It’s the network, the environment. People I never knew existed three months ago who are now part of my everyday life. I cook with them, I do side projects with them, we organize trips together. It’s a network where everyone is genuinely interested in the same things you are, where you grow together and build real friendships. And the traveling, the traveling is just so good.

How did you feel when you found out you were chosen as Member of the Month?
I was super excited! But honestly, none of this could have happened without the people around me, my friends who supported me and nominated me. This recognition isn’t just mine, it belongs to this whole community that’s been built around me. I’m incredibly grateful, and I’m really glad for everyone who made this possible. Being part of this in under a year, it already feels like a second family.

Be unrealistically realistic, that’s the mindset for life. Do that, and you’ll succeed in every dream you have.
