As the new semester begins and both familiar and new faces appear on the horizon, EUROAVIA Munich is getting ready for some exciting activities for the aerospace and aviation student community in Munich!
In October, we had two big events that we worked really hard on as a team, and we can’t wait to share them with you!
Between the 15th and 17th of October, the Zero Delta Challenge, the 3rd edition of Student AirRace, took place at the MGI Ismaning airfield near Munich. This time, we welcomed four teams: SuperBrezn SGD Racers from Augsburg, Germany; NOVA from Bucharest, Romania; TUM DRC from Munich, Germany; and ATLAS UPC from Terrassa, Spain.
The Zero Delta Challenge combines piloting, engineering and onboard autonomy. Teams race a multicopter along a marked course and must precisely confirm a target position, either manually or through an autonomous computer-vision-based landing for additional points. The challenge gives teams broad design freedom while following Student AirRace’s Rapid Engineering approach and strict safety requirements.

The classic Bavarian breakfast has become a tradition on the final competition day, and we were happy to see all participants enjoying it :). After three days of pure engineering, hard work from all teams and a really close battle for first place, team NOVA from Bucharest won the Zero Delta Challenge, congratulations to them!

And of course, congratulations to all teams for delivering such amazing performances, and a huge thank you to our sponsors for making this competition possible!
Servus, see you next year!
Another big event AS Munich took part in was the Student Club Fair, which took place on the 21st of October. This is by far one of the biggest events for student clubs at the Technical University of Munich, where more than 100 student initiatives get their own booth to show future members what their club is all about and why it is worth joining.

We, as EUROAVIA Munich (without being biased, of course), were pretty proud of our stand, showcasing goodies such as EUROAVIA Munich stickers and calendar cards, as well as Student AirRace stickers and our big EUROAVIA Munich wall.
We spent seven hours at our stand welcoming students and sharing the EUROAVIA spirit. Many of them were really surprised by the variety of our activities, and quite a few were especially excited about our upcoming DLR visit in November.
It was really cool to chat with so many students, some familiar faces and some new ones, and we can’t wait to show them all the amazing events coming up this semester!
