October brought a fresh wave of energy to EUROAVIA Patras, as our team embraced the start of the new Business Year with a series of activities. From taking part in events aimed at introducing more students to our association and welcoming new faces to holding the very first meetings, this month set the tone for an exciting year ahead!
October kicked off strong with our team’s participation in the UPFest26, our university’s largest student-centered festival, held every year to welcome new students. Throughout the three-day event, our highly visited booth featured EUROAVIA Patras’ merchandise, brochures with important information about our Local Group, magazines, and three eye-catching aircraft: our Airplane Project’s small plane, as well as our 2024 and 2026 ACC challengers, with the later having recently completed its maiden flight in Stuttgart.

Throughout the month, our team was actively promoted on social media by the Marketing WG, sharing important information about what we have to offer. In the same spirit, we also participated in two freshman welcome ceremonies, taking place in the faculties of Mechanical & Aeronautical Engineering and Electrical & Computer Engineering. The Local Board delivered two brief presentations outlining the benefits of joining the association, both locally and internationally, attracting considerable interest from the new students.

Following this promotional campaign, many students expressed interest in joining our association, marking the beginning of the recruitment process. A task force was formed, consisting of the Local Board and the Coordinators, to interview applicants and assess their skills.
As October was dedicated to organising the year ahead, the Local Board held frequent meetings, putting in extra hours to ensure a smooth start to the new Business Year. Our ACC team, Atlas M.ACH, also held meetings, having already shifted its focus towards the 2028 competition following its participation in this year’s event a few months earlier.

To wrap up the month on a high note, EUROAVIA Patras participated in the 1st edition of “Patras Physics Fest”, an event featuring talks by academics and scientists. Our Local Group had its own booth, where it showcased once again the opportunities available to students and highlighted the team’s active involvement.

EUROAVIA Patras is now heading into November with high ambitions and a packed schedule, including the integration of new members into the Working Groups and Projects, the organisation of the 1st General Meeting, and an engaging company visit.
